Engine Testing Overview:
Measurement device supplied by ACU and paid for by MX Committee is held by appointed MX Scrutineer; Brian Whyte.
Device allows indicative bore and stroke measurement via plughole without strip down in approx 10 mins.
If measurements indicate oversize a strip down and official measurement is required before final decision is made.
Rider or his agent will strip engine if deemed necessary by Scrutineer.
Scrutineer will make final decision on whether an engine is oversize subject to visual witnessing of final measurements by Clerk Of Course and MCUI Steward.
There will be a Scrutineer present at all Youth Southern Centre Championship MX events in 2008, also at the three remaining Irish Youth MX events in the south.
Bikes selected for engine testing will be at the Scrutineer’s decision and also on advice from the COC and stewards.
Bikes selected will be stopped before leaving the track and either tested then or tagged by the Scrutineer and tested immediately after races are over.
Tags will have a unique serial number and will be placed on bike by Scrutineer and can only be removed by Scrutineer during testing.
Tagged bikes must be produced to Scrutineer immediately after last race with tag intact.
Any failure to immediately produce bike, strip engine or tampering with tags will be treated as an automatic admission of oversize and no further protest will be entertained.
There will be no costs due to any person from indicative testing whether oversize or not.
?If the Scrutineer asks for a strip down and the bike measures legal, the normal protest fee will be paid to the rider by the MX committee.?
Only the rider and one of his mechanics will be allowed in testing area.

Exit lane from track before bikes officially leave track where bikes are in single file and Scrutineer can easily stop and choose which bikes to test.
